A spiced honey drizzle is a great finishing touch on so many dishes – from warm brie or a cheese course to puff pastry filled with delectable flavor combinations like prosciutto and fig jam or pistachio and goat cheese. And when it comes to honey drizzles you have two choices; make it from scratch or store-bought. Now I’m a girl who likes to make everything from scratch but sometimes, when you have a lot going on right at the end before you plate and serve the yumminess you just cooked up in the kitchen, it’s nice to be able to reach for a bottle of perfectly balanced Hot Honey and just drizzle away. That’s why I put this item on my pantry staples list. Now I’m sure there are other fine brands out there, this is just one I’m familiar with and think is a great balance of heat and sweet.
To purchase online you can find it here on Amazon:
But I also look for it at my local HomeGoods and often can find it there for a little less.
And for those of you who still want to go about it on your own here’s a quick and easy way to do just that. I sometimes still do when I want to play around with combining other flavors such as all spice or garam masala, depending on what I’m drizzling over. To make your own simply heat a little honey on the stovetop or in the microwave with some cinnamon and cayenne or chipotle powder and whisk in a little salt and you there have it. Easier to drizzle and combine the flavors when warm. If it cools, then just add it back to the microwave for a second or two in a glass bowl. Here’s a a few ideas on how to use the hot honey.
